The Journey Thoughts

October 20, 2016

Do you desire a closer relationship with God?  While I'm sure the answer to
that for most would be an emphatic "Yes!" I want to share that Jesus tells
us that to have a closer relationship with God, we have to want and have a
closer relationship with Him, and He will reveal the Father to us.  I must
admit, most of my thoughts of the faith involve the Son, but I want to make
sure the my heart is totally inclined toward God, for what He did in
bringing His Son, to this earth, to reveal the Father to us.  Scripture says
it like this: "Yes, Father, because this was Your good pleasure. All things
have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the
Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the
Son desires to reveal Him. Come to Me, all of you who are weary and
burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up My yoke and learn
from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for
yourselves. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."  Matthew 11:26-30
When I try to think of the goodness of God and what He must be like, I just
can't wrap my mind around it, for He is so far beyond our thinking, that it
seems like an impossibility.  Yet, Jesus, His Son, is not only an obedient
Son, but a good Friend to those who love Him.  I love Him, because I have
come to know Him, by the way He has revealed the glory of the Father to me,
and all who believe in Him.  When I think of how I was drawn to Him, and the
reluctance I had when being drawn, He did not give up on me, and He will not
give up on you. The words written are not just words of comfort, but are
words that for some reason, my heart now knows as truth.  This truth, was
placed in my heart, not by me, but by the One who draws me closer every day.
Do you have this truth in your heart?  I often wonder why it is so hard for
people to believe, then all I have to do is think back on those days that I
too, did not want to hear the truth.  But He continued to reveal the glory
of the Lord to me, and when I surrendered to this tugging on my heart, I was
given understanding for the first time in my life.  I knew! So He says that
ALL things are entrusted to Him, so I can have this focus before my eyes
daily, and that focus is Jesus.  I can have my thoughts on many things, but
the one thing that is ever present, is the presence of the Lord around me.
I wished I could tell you that it places me on my best behavior, but at
times, I still manage to mess up. But like a patient friend, or a patient
father, He is always  ready when my thoughts return to Him. He has taught me
that no matter what the trial, I can find rest in Him.  So I wanted to share
with you today, that whatever trial is set before you, whatever circumstance
you find yourself in, Jesus is right there asking you to 'Come to Me!'  He
is letting us know that when we are weary, when we are burdened, that He is
our rest.  You do not have to go through this alone.  This One who portrays
the essence of the Father, and who has had everything put under Him, is a
wonderful Lord. He is a caring Lord, and He is filled with Mercy, the very
attribute of the Father.  So I will trust again today, for today I might
very well be challenged in my faith beyond measure, yet I will know that
this One who saved me, is still with me, asking me to reach out to Him in
faith, and take up His yoke, instead of my own self-imposed yoke.  For I
know that with His yoke, I will be able to walk through any trial that
awaits me. I pray that you will reach out to Him also, for He is enough for
us all, and He will not miss one thing about each of us.

You Lord, will reveal the Father, not only to me today, but to all I pray
