The Journey Thoughts

November 16, 2016

I couldn't sleep very well last night, so I listened to music, which usually
helps me settle in.  I heard a song by Matt Redman, that I love, but the
words have continued on in my mind, and I have been meditating on this great
grace that God has poured out on us.  Parts of the song include: It's there
in the newborn cry, in the light of every sunrise. It's there in the shadows
of this life; it's there in the mountain top, and in the every day and the
mundane. It's in the sorrows and the dancing. It's there on the wedding day,
and in the weeping by the graveside; it's in every breath we breathe, Your
great grace.   All I have to do is think about this great grace, and I am
humbled, comforted, assured, and I am strengthened, not in the physical
sense, but in the Spiritual sense. You see, grace given, and grace received,
is constant, and it's only when we grasp the depth of this great grace, that
we can start to move closer to the throne of God, through Christ Jesus, our
Lord.  This unmerited favor, I feel it so strongly right now, so undeserved,
yet so freely given.  God's love is so overwhelming, that how could we not
surrender our hearts to Him, and literally feel the presence of this great
grace.  When I think about the words of this song, I realize that we do feel
this grace in the light of every sunrise, if we look at it as a gift given
each day, by God, for our warmth and light.  No wonder, John would write
what he saw about the future, when we would be living in a city in which,
the Light is no longer from the sun, but from God, Himself.  He is the light
of every sunrise, and His grace is like the rays of warmth that hit you when
you step outside.  Whether you go to the mountaintop or even in the shadows,
grace flows even where light cannot penetrate.  It's there when we feel
sorrow, lifting us into the Spiritual arms of the Savior. It's there when we
feel like dancing, and I can understand why David, danced before the Lord.
It's there on our wedding day, and it waits patiently for us to be reminded
that He is the source of our joy, and the strength of our marriage.  It's
there when we have to lay a loved one in the ground, pouring over us like a
blanket of comfort.  Yes, it is in every breath we breathe, and I pray this
morning that you will take a moment to breath in this great grace.  I pray
that you will stop what you are doing and give glory to the One who provides
us with such a great grace.

I pray that if you are filled with sorrow today, or that life have got a
strangle hold on you, that you look up, and see the outpouring of grace
flowing over you.  For you are loved, and grace is the evidence of such a
great love for us.  At this moment I feel it with such a fire that it causes
me to weep for the glory that God has favored such a sinner as I.  Yet, I
will not concentrate on my failures, but on faith in Christ. I am once
again, strengthened, by the fire of the Spirit within me, ignited by the
grace which so freely pours over me and you to the fullness, as God desires
to overwhelm us all with His grace.  It's either going to be a great day of
excitement, or a day in which I need this grace to sustain me. My faith has
established the presence of this grace. You know it, and today we can live
for Christ, not matter what our situation because you and I are covered by
God's great grace. Look up and see the Favor of the Lord, as you feel His
grace overwhelm you.
