The Journey Thoughts

December 13, 2016

Medicine is called a practice, because although a science, it is still
practiced.  Men and women constantly work to "practice" the art. Knowledge,
skill, and continued practice, make a person better skilled at what they do,
but it doesn't make them perfect, for it still is a mystery to many who
suffer from illnesses, injury, and disease, in which they seek help from a
"practitioner" who will try different methods to take care of them.
Sometimes these methods succeed and sometimes they fail.  The same with Law!
Those who "practice" it, always keep a review of how things should be, and
in reality how they are.  Often times, these professionals work in
environments where their patients and clients expect more than just
practice, they expect perfection.  The same can be said of Christianity.
We, who are called believers, are "Practitioners" of the faith.  But what is
it we are to be practicing?  Let's let Scripture tell us: "Now this is the
message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light, and there
is absolutely no darkness in Him. If we say, 'We have fellowship with Him,
yet we walk in darkness, we are lying and are not practicing the truth. But
if we walk in the light as He Himself is in the light, we have fellowship
with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
If we say, 'We have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not
in us." 1 John 1:5-8  So here is the message!  God is light! God is the
truth, and Jesus Christ, His Son, is the embodiment of His truth.  We must
have a life of practicing the truth, and here truth is not something that we
accept, but do not put into action, for this truth is the Word of the
Master, given out to the apprentice, so that we can "Practice" it our
life-long.  Practicing the truth, is having fellowship with Him; It is
walking in the Light, and the light is the truth of His Word, given to us to
help us become more like Him.  Before there were colleges, professionals
became professionals by apprenticing with a master, who became that way by
apprenticing with another master. We have the greatest teacher of the truth,
for we have the truth, directly from He who is truth.  He lived it, He
practiced it, He died for it.  So are you a practitioner of the truth?  Do
you live your life walking in the light? If you  are like me, you stumble
all the time, but remember, Truth is something to be practiced, and we
decide to practice it, because we believe it is THE truth.   This is not
just some ideology that we accept but don't practice.  This becomes the very
reason for our new existence.   The journey toward eternity is the classroom
of study with the master, and one day we will stand before Him, and
hopefully hear, 'Well done, thy good and faithful servant!' But it does take
a journey, and it takes a practice to become more like Him.  We have
accepted Him as Lord, and that is Who He is, yet, now is the time for us to
start practicing what He stands for.  For as the Scripture above says, if we
say we have fellowship with Him, yet we walk in darkness, we lie and are NOT
practicing the TRUTH.  But let make sure that we develop a PRACTICE by which
every day we learn from the Master how to be more like Him, and we put the
Practice into play as lights for Him, walking in the truth, and sharing the
truth, and fellowshipping with others, who like us, are apprentices on the
road to eternity, practicing the truth.

Heavenly Father, I pray for clarity, for understanding, for Your truth, and
ask You Lord, to strengthen all who read this today with Your truth, so that
we can be truly practitioners of Your word, Your truth.  Lord, I lift to
You, these who need Your care, Your touch, and encouragement for living, and
I pray that You will specifically move in these lives to let them feel Your
touch, and for them to Know You are near them.  I pray for Kaden, who is
having seizures; Carol, Michele, Pam, William, Carrie, Ada, Rheba, Mary,
Veronica, Douglas, Fritz, Dillon, Tara, Kristena, Kristen, Carolyn, Gene,
Terry, Angie, Isabel, Don, Dwight, Sammie, Lynn, Mike S., Barbara, Candace,
Meredith, Ramona, BJ, Ida, JV, Nada, Eva, Kelly and her son, Corbin, Robert,
Pat, Ryan, Fred, Dotty, Scott, April, Tracy, Abraham, Elijah, Japheth, Matt,
Liz, Mike, Megan, Matt, Bethany, Tim, Alex, Ken, Lynette, Patrick, Kathy,

Father, there are others too, and You know them, for they are lifted from
the hearts of believers all over, to You.  Lord, we love You, and we pray
for strength to walk in the light as we seek to practice the truth.  So I
pray for these and all who have been on this list, for changed hearts, and
healed bodies, and strengthened spirits, so that we can enjoy fellowship
with You, and I pray this in Jesus name.
