As believers, why do we have to live like the bible tells us to, instead of like the World that God made, and all the things He made for our benefit and/pleasure? Is it a good argument? When God planned the world, according to the scriptures, He made man for fellowship with Him, and He made woman, for a companion of man. He wanted this world to be a perfect place for us to live, and count on Him for everything. But man chose himself, rather than obedience to God. So we live, trying to live like Christ lived, but certainly falling short. But this should never keep us from trying. Paul said: "For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason to boast, because an obligation is placed on me. And woe to me if I do not preach the gospel! For if I do this willingly, I have a reward, but if unwillingly, I am entrusted with a stewardship. What then is my reward? To preach the gospel and offer it free of charge and not make full use of my authority in the gospel." 1 Corinthians 9:16-18 So we live by faith, knowing that doing so willingly because we love Jesus, will allow us to stand before Him one day, not in despair, but in humble confidence that we have fought the good fight, and have finished the race.
Lord, Please watch over these, I bring before you: Laurie, Denise, Amy, Loren, Marlaina, Barbara, Cynthia, Carolyn, Jackie Ann, Mike and Pam, Mike S., I pray for hearts that are totally surrendered to You. I pray for strength to stand not only against evil, but against the seemingly acceptable seduction of the world. I pray for hearts for others, and for our missionaries, that they would remain strong. I pray for our church leadership to stay strong in the word, so that we can walk what we talk. I pray for You to heal our nation, and restore a right heart into nation and bring unity to us, in Jesus name.
