I know that I speak of rejoicing, even during trials, but that is what Scripture tells us we are to do always. "Finally my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. To write to you again about this is no trouble for me and is a protection for you." Philippians 3:1 But why is rejoicing a protection for us? It is because when we put our hope and trust in Christ, and know that "all things work for the good, for those who are in Christ," we start to realize that He is in control over everything that happens to us. Whether we think it is bad, or we think of it as a mountain-top experience, we must come to that point that believes that Christ is with us always. And if He is with us always, that is cause for rejoicing. It is a protection that we can walk out fully clothed in the armor of righteousness. There is nothing that the world can throw at us, that can even come close to the hope that exists in us through Christ. So, even when it hurts, rejoice that our Lord is walking with us through whatever it is that we are facing, and that includes today.
Today, Lord, I lift up to You, my Lord and Savior, my hopes for all those I consider family, to feel Your touch, to hear Your voice, to rejoice knowing that You are right here with us. I pray for those who struggle through unbelief, and their hopes of You in their lives that seem to only be associated with their works. Please touch and heal those who are on each heart of those who read this prayer. I pray for healing, for strengthening the weak heart; for comforting the outcast; for encouraging the heavy laden. Father, As I look out at this beautiful morning, I am certain of Your presence, and I pray that You will be a certainty in all our hearts that will make us look up and rejoice, for this is the day that You have made. I pray in Jesus matchless name.
