Every time I watch a show that has British acting in it, I have a very difficult time understanding what they are saying, even though they are speaking English. There is something in the way they say it, that seems to just be out of reach of my comprehension. I was reminded of that this morning when reading Scripture in John where he talks about Jesus. Listen to what he says: "The One who comes from above is above all. The one who is from the earth is earthly and speaks in earthly terms. The One who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what He has seen and heard, yet no one accepts His testimony. The one who has accepted His testimony has affirmed that God is true. For God sent Him and He speaks God's words, since He give the Spirit without measure." John 3:31-34 The people were ready to accept John as the Messiah, but he told them plainly that he was not. He then told them about the One who was from heaven, but they did not understand. When Jesus spoke, many could not and would not believe in Him because they could not hear with their hearts. Their minds wanted someone else. Just because you can't hear from God doesn't mean He isn't speaking to you. It just might take us surrendering to the Holy Spirit and humble ourselves to listen to what God speaks, and not just what man speaks.
