Have you ever felt your life was like that on the show, "Groundhog Day?" Everyday has become the mundane! Everyday seems to be a repeat of the last one. Instead of finding something new to praise and proclaim, we just repeat what we did the day before, and we start existing. But God has called us to a higher calling, than just to exist. He has called us to be alive, to have compassion over those who do "just exist." Scripture says, "When He saw the crowds, He felt compassion for them, because they were weary and worn out, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, 'The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." Matthew 9:36-38 We are called to be workers of His harvest. That doesn't mean we are all suppose to be missionaries, yet we are all missionaries. God may have put you in the place you are, just for the harvest of one soul; just for the compassion on one weary traveler. But how will we know unless we are willing to be used by Him for His purpose. For there we will always find something to praise about, and every morning will become new.
Lord, help us to see the harvest around us. Help us to have compassion on our fellow man. instill in us a passion for serving You. We trust You, Lord, and desire to be made more like You today. I would pray for: Carol, the children of the church, who have come down with a virus; for Rheba, Pam, Karrie, Dale, Mandi and Bill, in decisions of where to move, as their house is being sold. For carlie, Sarah, Olivia, Jeremiah, Gary, John, Carolyn, and her sisters, Loren, Mike S., Pam and Mike. I pray for You, Lord to help us see the harvest set before us in Jesus name.
