The Journey

We often talk about the fact that we will know them by their fruit. In other words, we will see the walk of the believer because of the fruit.  But do you understand this: A good branch that is part of a fruit tree, will produce fruit only because of what it is attached to.  Now as I walk in my property, I see some trees with dead branches. Eventually these branches fall off during a storm. They fall off because they are no longer connected to the main tree. They have become dead.  How can I tell they are dead.  There are no leaves on them. Nothing is produced by these limbs.  Jesus tells His disciples, and us, this: "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vineyard keeper. Every branch in Me that does not produce fruit He removes, and He prunes every branch that produces fruit so that it will produce more fruit. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as a branch is unable to produce fruit by itself unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in Me." John 15: 1-4  We are already clean because of His word, but are we producing fruit. He may even be pruning us so that we will produce more fruit, but, 'Are we producing fruit?'  If we are connected to the vine, how can we help but produce fruit.  Lisa and I are on a list with the Garden shop to receive a multi-fruit tree. A tree grafted with different kinds of apples.  God has made us all different branches, each grafted in by Him to the Tree of Life - Jesus.  We are adopted to be a part of the Father.  So how can we not produce fruit? How can we just exist thinking that being grafted in will be enough for us?  Jesus said, that "Every branch in Me that does not produce fruit He removes." If you remain in Christ, attached to Christ, you cannot help but produce fruit for the kingdom.  For that's what we do when attached to the vine.  So let go, and let the Vine make you strong, filling you with strength and vitality for the production of His Will for you.

Lord, forgive us if we have failed to remain in You. Forgive us if we have just existed and have let the troubles and trials of the world close off our flow of energy from Your Spirit. I pray for new strength, new life, new fruit, that comes from being connected to You. I pray also for these who have been plagued by the disease of the world, and the cares of the world. Please clean us all.  I pray then for: Anthony, Barbara, Loren, Jackie Ann, Speros, Cynthia, Carolyn, Gary, David, Bud, Denise, Jim, James, Pete, Carlie, Mike S., Amber, Brad, Sue, Kim, a child with Lyme dz. I pray for our missionaries, that You will keep them strong. I pray for our military and first responders, and firemen, who will go out today in dangerous situations.  I pray for us, that we will stay attached to You, and that we will produce the fruit You will for us to produce, and I pray in Jesus name.
